With tremendous sadness, I am here to share the news of the passing of my Yeye, pictured here in 2008 with my dad and my kids. He was 97 years old.
In many ways, I have said my goodbye to him a thousand times. Some things I have come to expect: every time I see him would be the last, but one thing I had continued to hope in my heart: there will be at least one more time... This will not be the case anymore and I miss him in ways I can and cannot explain. Last time I saw him, he was on a public bus with me in Beijing returning to his residence. The old revolutionary got to ride all the public transportation in China for free and he took advantage of that! :)
I will be back with CHA projects to share later this week. It's also the eve of Chinese New Year, bring on the dragon!

I am so sorry for your family's loss. I lodge my grandpa at 91 last spring. It seemed like his long, good life should have made it easier but that is not how loss and grief works. I'll keep you in my prayers

Hi sweetie! I am so sorry for your loss. I like how you said you already said goodbye to him a thousand times...when a family member passes on it is always a loss. Did you know I lost my Dad to cancer two and a half year ago? I wish you all the best Jing Jing - love checking in on you now and then. Great to see your dad with the girls on the photo.
