The full reveal of the Midnight Rooster's June kit is just around the corner (sometimes today - Wednesday June 9)! Maybe by the time you read this, the kit would be up already!! I thought I would post one of the projects I have created with this kit.
It is definitely one of those kits, the minute I opened it, a very concretely defined idea presents itself. There's no escaping it, I knew what I had to make, immediately. The Maya Road dress form chipboard album is not included in the kit, but I have two in my stash, lol. The idea behind this mini-album came from Dove's Campaign for Real Beauty. I did not use any photos for this mini, but I had written down quite a while ago, some brief thoughts on what I would define as "beauty." Having two girls, two beautiful ones at that, I hope they know one day, from the core of their being, beauty is so much more than just external good looks.
This kit includes a totally awesome swirl stamp, an exclusive for Midnight Rooster, by Purple Onion Designs. I used it to frame all of my printed journaling for this mini. I think I will post a brief tutorial on how to do this on the Midnight Rooster's blog when it will be my turn again.
One last note before I go, myStamp Box will be having a Blog Hop on June 17th. I hope you will join in the fun!

midnight rooster? maybe a funny childrens game you play outside at night, like a sillier version of kick-the-can!
A rooster crowing at midnight, even though they don't do that.
The name Midnight Rooster makes me think of something that takes you by surprise when you least expect it....just like how a rooster crowing at midnight would!! That's just me, anyhow!!! Thanks soooo much for the chance to win, I'm totally in LOVE with these kits and am dying for the chance to be on the DT!!! Totally AMAZING product to work with! :D
I think of an aging male still trying to strut his stuff - think Mick Jagger, lol!
What a fun question - and what a FABULOUS project you've created! I am so in love with that Maya Road Chipboard album - I may have to find one of my own to play with!

Wow, this is a phenomenal mini! I love that you did an album without pictures!!
First thing that comes to mind ... black roosters keeping me up all night. But I love the name...it is catchy and unusual!!

i LOVE this!! the colours, the shapes, all the extra chunkity bits ~ yum, yum, yum.
let me see, when i think "midnight rooster"...
i think of a quiet house & a crafter who can stay up past 9 p.m., blissfully, joyfully alone, playing with bright & funky things and smiling her feathers off. ;)
I think Midnight Rooster could be a sleek new kind of train that travels at unheard of speeds.
Love your dress-form project Jing-Jing! Inspiring.
I cannot wait for the reveal. I will be stalking all day.
I'm thinking setting the alarm clock wrong... D'oh! Such a bad wake up call - when am gets mixed up with pm and vice versa! :D
What an amazing and special mini album Jing-Jing! Your girls will treasure it!
When I think of Midnight Rooster? Hmmm...the first thing that comes to mind: The Rooster call to spend the late hours of the day creating.
i love your dressform mini! it's gorgeous. great idea to write your thoughts on beauty. thanks for sharing :)!
midnight rooster...i think of the rooster that crows during the nighttime near my folks' house, hehe. mind you that we live in the city and these are wild chickens, hehe. thanks for the chance.
btw, i love your name...baby bok choy...one of my fav veggies, hehe. thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving such a sweet comment. made my day!
*hugs* and much aloha~ steph :)
Midnight Rooster sounds like Chinese New Year to me...for some odd reason! Just saying bye before I head to the big trip. xoxo
I just purchased that dressform at the Great American Scrapbook Convention and NOW I have a more clearly defined idea of what I can do with it! Yours is just gorgeous!
Hmm...when I hear Midnight Rooster I think of warm summer nights in t he country {like when I was a kiddo} lying out in the grass and looking up at the stars. I also think of the sound of the rooster crowing early in the morning. The name Midnight Rooster sounds wholesome and comforting to me! Thanks for asking it let me reminisce on my childhood for a few moments...now back to work....
Awesome mini!!!
Midnight Rooster, it what I should call mygrandkids that want to stay up all night and sleep all day!
Love your mini album! When I think of Midnight Rooster, it reminds me of my ex. Midnight was the bewitching hour for him (usually not me) and we use to raise chickens and had one old noisy, nasty rooster! Not by choice, but unlucky me had to take care of them! Loved their debut kit and can't wait to see what their June kits beholds!
Oh MY GOSH...............I love this....you can send me one anytime you want!!! YOU ROCKED IT SWEET FRIEND!!!!!
Hmmm..Midnight Rooster....a really strong alcoholic beverage....or maybe the old man hanging at the bar drinking too many of this Midnight Roosters...hoping to score!!!! HEHE :-)
Country French Decorating :)
I love those dress forms! The possibilities of paper piecing are endless! I love the paper's you chose as well as the sentiment. When I hear "midnight rooster" I think of a rooster crowing the middle of the night for some reason! I also imagine him slightly confused. :)
I LOVE this Jing-Jing!!!!
love your mini, jj! so cute! hmmm... midnight rooster? i think someone's who's confused about their role in life! lol.
世間事沒有一樣沒有困難,只要有信心去做,至少可以做出一些成績。........................................
FanFREAKINtastic!!! I have no words good enough for that project. LOVE the dress forms min. LOVE the colors/patterns in that kit. LOVE the tags & the statements I could read... such GREAT things to teach little girls. They are so inundated with wrong messages, the older they get, that they need to hear the right ones at home! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this one! My new Jing-Jing favorite!
Midnight Rooster. Need one. Maybe that will get me out of the craftroom & into bed earlier. LOL
... mini.... not min. LOL
PS... LOVE the new "do." Lookin' GOOD, girl! :-)
That album is precious! You are so clever! First thing that comes to mind is a rebel - a midnight rooster doesn't follow the rules if he's awake at night. I like that - it implies creativity!
Fabulous mini!!! Midnight rooster reminds me of myself - up late but early to rise - love it!!
Thanks for the love on my blog hun. The phrase Midnight Rooster makes me think of a sleek black elegant rooster and yes Louis there are BEAUTIFUL roosters even if they are oh so annoying at daylight. LOL Oh and mean as an..well never mind that part. The first and only time I left my son at my friends house he was attacked by a rooster. She said he had went in to the chicken coop to hug the chickens and the rooster attacked him! He had scratches all down his face and chest. My poor baby was only 4 when that happened, he is 26 and STILL hates chickens. LOL Thanks for the memory Jing-Jing.
I totally think FARM when I hear Midnight Rooster. I'm working to change that to really cool scrapbook kit club. :)
Ok, so Midnight Rooster reminds me of getting woke up in the middle of the night to cock-a-doodle-doo! Teehee!!!
That mini's cute, Jing-Jing. And that Purple Onion stamp's to-die-for. I want one of those. :)
Midnight Rooster? Brings to mind a jet-lagged rooster who's lost all sense of time and crows incessantly at inappropriate hours. :D
A really loud rooster waking up the neighborhood!
LOL! I was thinking of grilling chicken for dinner. LOVE the kit and the stamp is totally awesome. Your project is just perfect and I bet your dd has already taken it. :) So cute!
I can't even tell you how much I LOVE this mini album, Jing-Jing!!! Alright . . . I'll play along. The first thing that came to mind is that Midnight Rooster would be a good name for an all-night club . . . LOL. I don't know why that popped into my head. :)
Tu vas rire mais je pense au coq français!!! Symbole de la France de nuit comme de jour :P
Ton mini est absolument fabuleux!!! J'adore l'idée de définir la beauté selon toi pour tes filles!
I LOVE your album! Wow, just amazing!
The first thing that comes to my mind is that that rooster must be confused, lol! But I do love the name, it has a unique, artsy feel to it. :)
Vintage, country style. Red check tablecloths, bright cheery things! I love the kits! Just signed up for a sub, can't wait!
ackkkk i love what u did with the dress forms!!
oooomg!! this is absolutely amazing.
The first thing that comes to mind is a rooster sitting on top of a red barn in the middle of the night crowing away.
