Girls At Work

Really, a year ago, they were doing this? Forget about the fact that someone wasn't walking yet at that time, I mean, they were wearing SHORTS and SHORT SLEEVES?? sigh... whatever...

I am totally addicted to the Technique Tuesday Fundamental chipboard frames!! I got them in the March 2009 Scrapbook Obsessions kit. They are so lightweight and easy to embellish and you can use them as a tracing tool! I really am going to miss them when they are used up!

This page was done with the April 2009 Scrapbook Obsessions kit. Who loves Cosmo Cricket? I do! I do! Who loves Girl Friday? I do! I do! This girl wishes every day is Friday at 5 p.m.! And this girl is proud to squeeze in three 4x6 photos onto one layout with a little bit of trimming :)



National Scrapbook Day is coming up, I hope to get a few things done this weekend to "celebrate." There are a lot of things in my hopper, the mind hopper that is. Not a lot is actually committed onto paper, lol... I do have some other things to share in the next couple of days, not brand new stuff, but just stuff that I have not posted on my blog yet, so stay tuned...

Well, I am still recovering from shock that a fellow cowgirl, Robin Gibson, gave me this blog award! GET OUT!!! I still think she was not lucid when she picked me but thank you Robin so very much!!

First up are two BFF's from S.O. that I finally had the privilege of meeting this past March. How do they inspire me? Well, since our fateful meeting in March, I went on a scrapbooking supplies shopping spree unparalleled for the last 2.5 years. I signed up with Michael's reward program. They have given new meaning to the words: "exchange program."

Aubree, my friend, you and I were separated at birth ten lives ago!

Michelle, Ms. Technology Wonder, stop telling me to use a cell phone! I refuse!

Graphic 45 has is on Ning! I am in awe/shock/amazement of the talented artists that I have found there who love Graphic 45 as much as I do. Out of that little circle, I've met a couple of great scrappers with whom I feel an instant connection, and they both have beautifully inspiring blogs with amazing creations!!!

Pearl, we love so many of the same products out there, not to mention her wonderful last name :) You know the Chinese saying: "Five hundred years ago, we were family!"

Courtney, wow, seriously, are you NOT amazed by her talent? I know you would be :)

How about some awesome crafty weblogs I LOVE? They inspire and depress me at the same time, lol. When will I ever be THIS crafty? sigh...

No One Told Me It's Earth Day

And NOT Earth's Day!! Too late now, nothing I can do to change this fresh off the press layout of mine!! This past week and so, DD has been all about Earth Day. In fact the daycare sheet of the week indicated that on Tuesday, the students will be picking up garbage around the center. Are we paying them to use our kids as child laborers? lol...

And oh my gosh, so glad that I snatched up the latest and greatest Crate Paper's Little Sprout collection. I've had my eyes on this line ever since Winter CHA. I also dug into some of the "older" Crate paper for this layout, papers that I find so difficult to part from...

So in honor of Earth Day, I hereby document...

Color Combos Galore #119

The #119 challenge at CCG is up!!! Don't you just love these colors? together, I mean :) Here's my take on these colors. Though the bitter MN is over, I'm still holding my breath waiting for warmer weather. It is so hard to imagine that we will get to the point where our strawberry patch will produce fruits again! I never imagined that it would be this easy to grow things, but we harvested at least 30 lbs of our little patch! I took so many pictures! Frankly, I have nothing left to say about these pictures, you know, the journaling-less types of layouts! In case you wonder, I used Technique Tuesday chipboard frames to trace out the yellow papers. I got those in the Scrapbook Obsessions March 2009 kit. I am getting so many uses out of those chipboard frames!!!

Over the MOOn

I have been selected as one of the new DT members for Purple Cows. Someone please pinch me!



Two agonizing weeks I had to endure to hear this incredibly good news. This Cow has finally come home!! and to a purple one at that.

In my application, I was very clear on why I wanted to be on its DT. I was born in the Year of the Cow, and 2009 is the Year of the Cow, and my favorite sports team, VIKINGS, you guessed it, it's the PURPLES!! LOL!!!

After I talked to Vennita who called me to tell me the good news, DH remarked, "If only she could see you now, wearing a COW shirt!" So true, so true, not to mention the perpetual necklace I have around my neck, a golden cow, which I might consider spray painting, LOL!!! I mean MOL!!!

Happpy happy joy joy!!! Here is the announcement, wow, I'm excited!!!

Selected into the BG Gallery

Here is another layout using the S.O. May kit. This and my "pig out" layout have both been inducted into Basic Grey's online gallery. It is something small to celebrate, who knows, something bigger may be a-brewing... :)

Imperial Eaves

I would have never thought to use yellow on these pages. I suppose that's why I love the Color combos challenges: thinking outside of my little box! The little bits of yellow really really make the page pop. I love this layout personally, just because it's unusual for me. And scrapping imperial architecture doesn't have to be all somber and mystique, the bright and refreshing look suits the photos well!

I gotta tell you that the yellow felt brad came from Aubree! I can't wait to do another huge swap with her and Michelle in October!!

What is on Her Mind?

I get it, Becky, when you said the theme of this contest is "what's on your mind." And indeed it is clever, given the sponsor of the contest.

So I created this layout with S.O. May kit to document what DH and I think is on DD's mind! How can someone so little be so concerned about it all? Just as I am typing this blog entry, I remembered that I had forgotten to add how she doesn't sleep well at night if one of us was not home at the time she was getting ready for bed, sigh... Poor DH, how he suffered when I was in Philly for five nights!

So voila my entry into the Pagemaps contest.

Friends Let Friends Pig Out

I have been in this scrapbooking world for 10 years now, and finally, I got to meet a couple of online friends for real! A conference for work took me to Philadelphia, and I met up with Aubree and Michelle! We ate at this fantastic restaurant Maggiano's right across the street from the downtown Marriot!

This layout just quickly documents some of the dishes we had that I took pictures. I plan to do at least one more to go into more details of the whole dining experience. I imagine I will further immortalize the two gals in a "tribute" layout as well. Fun fun fun stuff!!!

All supplies are from the S.O. May 2009 kit using Basic Grey Porcelain line. Basically, Grey always does it right, whatever it is.

This layout I created as a part of design team work for Graphic 45 back in August, but somehow I decided to hold it back and I made another one for the gallery instead. I submitted it Memory Maker's Baby layouts call when I was in Shanghai since I had the digital image of the layout with me! I almost missed the deadline because I was procastinating until I thought it was too late, but thankfully Shanghai is 13 hours ahead of CST, I did send it in time.

So here it is, my little layout... I mean everything I have said in it. Though I love the idea of another baby, but let me just remind myself...

Graphic 45 Altered Clock

I bought this clock at M's nearly six months ago. I had always intended it to be a Graphic 45 alteration project. So finally, it happened!

It all came together when I realized how nicely the Technique Tuesday chipboard frame would fit onto the clock. I used mostly Transatlantique line to do the alteration. It's not easy cutting into these papers, they are truly beautiful and works of art on their own! I spray painted the wire part of the clock and used my Cricut Expression to cut out the numbers! That machine came in handy in a big way :)
