Pastel colors!

So this week, we are using pastel colors at the Color Combos Galore. Somehow my apple green turned into less of an apple one, but the layout turned out okay. You would think that I would be all over that pink, but already, I'm trying to not use patterned papers to satisfy the color requirements, so I mostly used stickers in the form of accent and title for the pink in the combo.

Alteration!

This is my newly altered tea can with the Cosmo Cricket Girl Friday line. That bee is my happiness! It contains jasmine tea, my favorite. I think next time I will just do a label, the chipboard letters are fun but you have to spin the whole can to see what the word is!

Here is a sneak peak of what I just finished today with my new box of Graphic 45 goodies. I never would have believed that I had in me, but the inner alteration-diva wanna-be is fighting her way out of me! LOL!

Critter Card #3

Graphic 45 doesn't have to be muted and vintage, it can be used brightly :)

Critter Card #2

Love the little seahorse that comes with G45's Botanicabella paper!

Critter Cards

I love making cards, I really really do! I follow several card making challenge blogs and the DT on these blogs always blow my mind when it comes to card making. I decided to try to answer the Critters challenge by Caardvarks. I made the following three cards with Graphic 45 paper and a critter :) I like them and I thoroughly enjoyed making them!

Here is my first one:

Color Combo #114

My layout is sandwiched between Janine Koczwara and Debbi Tehrani and it still looks pretty good!! I am happy with myself for that fact alone!! Yes so here it is my take on this week's color challenge. I also used some older patterned paper from Mustard Moon! I think this is going to be a great way to dig into older stash because it is about the colors after all!!

Girl Weekend Me

This weekend is nearl behind me now... I am glad to say that I have accomplished a few things scrappy wise. In all honesty, I don't attempt to accomplish anything besides scrapping, so I usually have something to show for my efforts.

Fist up is the April kit at Scrapbook Obsessions. You should see the chipboard letters that is included in this kit!!! It's by Colorbok and 26 sheets of 12x12 letters, so essentially 15 sets of complete alphas in one package!! It is unbelievable!!

I really love Cosmo Cricket and the Girl Friday line is right up my alley! I actually got this paper already before the kit, that's how much I love it!! Here is a layout about the antique chair Second Child is sitting/standing on. I wish I had photography skills to take better pictures of the chair. However it's the fact that she is sitting in the chair her grandfather sat on as a child that makes it meaningful, so here it is:

Then a surprise package came from Graphic 45!!! Finally, my hands and eyes fall upon Fashionista and Transatlantique!! I wish words can describe how unbelievable those two lines are. I sat there and admire and sniffed the delicious paper! How DID I get so interested, enthralled and mesmerized by vintage?? I don't know but I LOVE LOVE LOVE Graphic 45!!!

Finally, a picture of First Born holding the mini-album I made with the Girl Friday paper line. The mini is a mini-Maya Road album included in the April kit. I did it in 2 hours! That's a record!!! I told myself to KISS!! LOL!

October Afternoon Love and CCG #94

I am a huge fan of October Afternoon! Hop over to see their three new lines released in CHA! It is a Minnesota-based company too!! I look forward to some warehouse sale in the future, that would be OA-heavenly!! I don't care how long I will have to wait for them to hit the stores, I will have it all!! Meanwhile, I do have a very healthy stockpile of OA papers and rubons :) This layout was done as a part of the CCG DT application, using Hometown collection.

There was a time when I felt frustrated whenever I saw layouts of single photos. I never could understand how could anyone ever dream of catching up or being done if they scrap one photo at a time. Well, I understand now since I myself am no longer interested in being done or catching up. I scrap in the moment. I scrap the moment. I scrap because baby girl's cheeks and chubby legs bring tears to my eyes.

Another Layout with Inspired Blueprints

This is another layout I have created with the sketch by Inspired Blueprints. I just discovered them via Noel Mignon's challenge blog that I've been following for over a year and half now. I am not all about one-photo layouts, but sometimes, I only have one photo, captured in that moment in time, reflecting exactly what I want to remember or remind. This picture is one of those pictures: adoration intensely...

Color Combos Galore

Well, I am so excited to share that I am a DT member 2009 for Color Combos Galore. I can hardly believe it!!! CCG is a challenge site where every week, a new color combination is revealed and layouts are made based on the color combination.
The DT call combo immdiately reminded me of the half sheet of Artic Frog paper I have been keeping since 2005. That's right! It validated my inner hoarder!!! It was indeed a half sheet (now only quarter sheet) of paper, but I knew exactly where it was, because I still love that paper! So check out the combo and join us at CCG by playing and creating a layout using this combo. The DT reveal is very intimidating. I hope I'm not a one-combo wonder!

Here is my take on the color combo! I rarely say this, but I do **heart** this layout. Could DD#2 be more ridiculous with her fake smile??

YAY!!!

A rare layout about us

This photo was taken on our last anniversary, you would probably remember the date that the Chinese governement threw a huge party for us by kicking off the Olympics. L O L !

I have several version of this photo and this is my first scrapping of it. I rarely scrap a photo twice, but when it comes to DH and me, it's going to have to repeat, that is, if I ever get around to scrapping us at all...

This layout was done to answer several challenges. I love it when I can combine challenges into one!

THIS

So here is one of the layouts I created for Marks Paper Company as the March guest designer. I do love this layout myself. Oh my goodness, that sunflower, can it BE cuter? It's from their Old Fashioned Courtship collection.

I miss those days when DD#2 was still immobile. I can leave her somewhere and then stand far away to zoom in to achieve decent "portrait mode" shots. I love this photo of her, she's so adorable, definitely the most adorable child in the world. Yeah, yeah, I'm her mother, but I'm totally impartial here. * LAUGH *

I'm a COVER GIRL! sort of...

Well, two blog posts in one day, I certainly did not plan it that way, but I sent in my guest design work to Stacy yesterday and already she has them posted on Marks Paper Company website. My glorious mug is on the FRONT PAGE!!! I'm going to send you there to check the layouts I did for them in March. I must admit to liking them myself VERY much. Hee hee...

Disney Mini

I created this Mini with a Basic Grey chocolate chipboard album from S.O.'s October 2008 kit. The papers are from the March 2009 kit. I think it'll be one of the many albums and layouts I will do for our WDW trip. The vacation was memorably wonderful and I got some really awesome photos! You know the drill: 70's and sunny versus the MN -20 and dreary. LOL

I also got some good news today, I will be sharing the details sometimes this week. Let's just say that I hadn't even known about this place till 2 weeks ago but now I'll be a substantial part of it!!!
