Scrappy Happy Weekend

I spent a wonderfully productive weekend with Scrapbook Obsessions' March kit featuring Nancy Janes collection by Carolees Creations. The papers are pinks, reds, greens, flowers, so I can just randomly dump some pictures onto the table and they will work! LOL

This is the cover page for our WDW trip. I've never created a cover page before the entire album is done. That just means I have a lot of albums with no cover pages, but it was time to try something different! :)

The Technique Tuesday frames are way too awesome!! I'm glad that J.R. and Chantele discovered them for us. I ordered other frames as add-ons. I look forward to using those in the future. Here's baby girl blowing me a kiss, what's with the frown?!

And it doesn't have to be all pink and girly! Here's a snow layout with this kit. Frankly, I am sick and tired of the cold and snow, but oh well...

I look forward to photographing the mini album I completed with this kit. I really love it!! I love mini albums, if only they aren't so much intensive work!!

Some Bunny is Cute

I've had this photo on my desk forever now, collecting dust. Then I saw the Penciline's sketch and I memorized the sketch and then created this layout. It came out all right. It definitely makes me smile! Oh Pencillines, my pencillines, how I do love thee...

I combined Baby to Bride and Playtime past papers from Graphic 45. I also did a little more layering than I normally do. I'm trying to branch out. You know, I don't like to hide products behind other products!!! You know I want to hollow out the papers that is hidden. You know I have my neurosis that I am trying to overcome... lol...

Goal Accomplished

Last June, after a couple of emails with a couple of trusted friends on the S.O. design team, I decided to set a goal for myself. The goal was to get published in two years. That meant that I needed to submit. As if the doubts and fears were not enough to stop me cold in the tracks, the amount of work it takes to submit a layout would have deterred me. So thank goodness for goals, and to make sure I would be accountable for my goal, I told hubby and Jessy.

So the "call" came when I was in Shanghai back in October, this layout I created for the Memory Makers birthday call. And now it is in print, I am still incredulous. Really, I am. I have another one in the next issue, and two in the issue after that, not to mention a couple of other magazines, but I must save some good news for other posts... So here I am, holding my name in print and in honor of this layout's title, I tell onto you, Carpe Diem! If it can happen to me, it can happen to you!

Happy 1st Birthday Graphic 45

Happy Birthday to Graphic 45!!!

I am so proud, honored, and humbled to have been a small part of this wonderful paper company.

Here is a composition book I altered with the latest Communique line. This has a lot of practical use for me since it is the notebook I use at work so I try to go relatively flat with minimum embellishments. And really, papers with such definition and full of richness to begin with, I hardly need to do any work, just cut and paste! :)

Communique Moi

This layout is inspired by the bright red colors in the communique line. I thought the photo background goes well with the rest of the Communique's papers.

Yes, this is indeed me! I just couldn't resist the Asian way of wedding photography so when we were in Shanghai in 2002, we had our "wedding" photos taken. They really caked on the makeup. I was whiter than DH by SEVERAL shades. LOL!
