The Banner That Wasn't

Finally I am getting around to posting the butterfly banner I created using Graphic45 Botanicabella line. This and the two layouts I created were supposed to be on display for CHA, but they did not make it onto the plane with Diane! She called me to tell me about it after CHA was over. I was rather relieved since for a tiny while there, I was actually nervous that it got lost, or worse, that they did not like it!! Confidence is not a forte of mine, goodness knows how often that show up at my work's performance appraisal, and that spills into every area of my life. Even so, I really did think the banner was worthy, so I was very glad when Diane called me to tell me in person!! Well, it won't be long before August 1, and I will have a few other Graphic 45 projects to post then.

Missing Staying Home...

That's the thing about memories, we filter out the bad, and mostly retain the good... I think about last summer staying home with the kids, it was just so delightful! Reality couldn't have been only that.

That's the thing with life. At the end of it all, nothing was all that bad, and we remember the good times... and us scrappers remember a little more, because we scrapped it :)

Sassafras Lass Goodness

Today I came home to my prize package from Legacy Scrapbooking sponsored by Sassafras Lass! I am in Sassafras heaven right now, that is for sure! Just today on the S.O. message board, I've been publicly drooling all over the new lines Sassafras is introducing at CHA summer this year. I absolutely adore their paper lines!! And to get so much all at once to play with, oh delight of all delights!!!

I thought I would accompany my over-the-moon happy mail day by posting a layout I did with Sassafras Sunshine Lollipop line. You see, their paper really is perfect for my girls and for me :)

Rusty Pickle July Challenge

This is my third entry in a row to Rusty Pickle's blog challenges. When I first read that it was using one of their patriotic lines, I actually thought to myself, hmm... I don't think I have any... Well, then I thought again... LOL! I have been in utter love with Rusty Pickle for so long now, so of course I had something... the Mayflower line. I still remember the frenzy it was for me to get my hands on it when it first came out, oh my goodness...

I altered the Rusty Pickle giant monogram letters. So glad to have the extra push to actually do something with them, since I really like them. As you know, I have a hard time using things I really like, yes, roll eyes here, please. Supplies are way more than 80% Picklelicious :) Unfortunately for me, I told my dad that I'm entering the banner into a contest, and he said, "that? so plain and ordinary!" LOL, it may be so for him, but my little heart thumped pretty happily when I finished it. I LOVE it! Let's face it, I LOVE making banners :)

Graphic45 Layouts for July

These have been posted in the G45 Gallery for a few days now. Both layouts are done using the Playtime Past line. There is one sheet in that line that almost made me cry when I first saw it. Of course, I haven't used it yet, I can't bring myself to cut into it. I cannot get enough of G45's vintage!!! But you don't have to use vintage photos with them! They are such versatile papers!

I also must thank Second Child for being as beautiful as she is, although I think peaceful photo taking days are over now that she is mobile on foot!

So, tell me what you think.

Second Batch of S.O. July 08 layouts

This is the first layout I did with the July kit and my favorite one. I think this is a major reason why I love scrapbooking. These pictures would have just been some not-that-great pictures of the baby playing with her butt in the air, but with a humorous title (imho) and journaling, the pictures become meaningful because it captured those memories. And they are already memories. Second child is a walking machine now. I will never be able to get pictures like these again. She has moved on and her mother is left reminiscing, yes, reminiscing things that were a whopping few weeks ago...

Here is the sketch for the month. I think I'm nearing my so-called-digital end here... Really, there is only so much you can do with Word and I know next to nothing about digital scrapping. Man, I can't stand technology!

Last and not the least of all, summer photos in Minnesota. Really, I don't have a lot to say about these pictures, just the fact we are outside and have good enough lighting to take pictures make them scrap-worthy!

First Batch of S.O. July 08 Layouts

Now that the July 08 newsletter for Scrapbook Obsessions has been posted, I can begin sharing my layouts. As usual, my fellow DT members, Colette, Jan, and Lynnise did some incredibly gorgeous work! I have to admit that this month's papers were harder to work with than I had originally thought. Here are the first two that I will share.

Aubree Sent Me a RAK

A couple of weeks ago, Aubree sent me a box of scrappy goodies, including Prima papers she got at Michaels. She did say that I'd better post what I do with those paper, so here it is. Thanks Aubree again for the fun RAK you sent!

Happy Fourth of July!

On this day commemorating the signing of the Declaration of Independence, I would like to share a peek of a project I did for the July newsletter for Scrapbook Obsessions with their add-on kit Scenic Route Liberty. I will post the rest on another day.
