Up!

Here is another challenge entry. As I was falling asleep last night, I thought about using strips of paper on two sides to qualify the 5 different PP criterion, and I'm glad I remembered it today!! The big "flower" is done using lace included in a Scarlet Lime kit. It was very lacey so very difficult to work with, but it looks okay seeing it digitally. Wow, another layout done, another milestone scrapped! This has been a productive weekend, scrapping wise.

All the Story in One Photo

This is one of these "events" from which I only printed one photo! I think that it was all it needed to tell the story. Once again, I did this layout for a challenge at Scrapbook Obsessions. One of the requirements is to use a new technique. I brought out my Big Bite and punched little and medium holds in a sticker strip to jazz it up. I love the end results! This is definitely going to be a technique I will be using over and over again! I think if the long title overflowed onto the RP paper, it might have been better looking, but black on black, I wasn't too sure. I stuck with the red and black and cream color scheme. Yes, I like this one.

A Favorite Photo

This really is my favorite photo of Second Child. I can say that I splurged and printed it on 5x7 since I rarely do that! Gosh I am cheap! I saw a LO in the 2peas Garden by Jennifer Pebbles and based mine on that. I love this photo, even though I messed up on the stamping, I still like this very much. I had NO IDEA how slick "Stazon" ink is!!!!
I should add that I did this one this past Saturday as an SO challenge. I have a mountain pile of newsletter ideas to do, but I had to play in the challenges!

Frenzy of activities at SO today

Scrapbook Obsessions is hosting Willow Traders Third Birthday celebrations today. There are so many challenges up, I hardly know where to begin.

Even though I am neck deep in making things for the newsletter, I have to participate in these challenges, they are just way too fun!!!

Here are two cards to enter for the Easter/spring card challenge:

Kissable Cheeks

I really love two of the three pictures in this LO, so it's been hard to actually scrap them. It feels as if they need "special attention" on a "special layout." It's thinking like that keeps me from decorating my house with layouts. Empty walls everywhere taunts me! Not a single thing have I hung up in my house, NADA! I digress...

I traced a Noteworthy notebook sheet onto the MME lime PP and cut it out and traced the edge with black marker, it looks as if it is "store bought!" I like the simplicity of this LO so much that I might just have to scraplift it for April projects for Scrapbook Obsessions!

Memories...

I love scrapbooking. I love it more and more each day, scrapping for the sake of playing with supplies. But it all started with the desire to document, and sometimes a LO does just that. This is from a long time ago, and I found it on my computer as I was digging around. It helps me to remember those fun and precious moments, finding amusement in a pumelo peel. It also reminds me how she no longer eats this delicious fruit! How things in life change!

I took down my JOY banner

Finally this past weekend, I had a little time to do dusting around the house. I took the opportunity to take down this banner. I have meant to do another one for Easter. I have 5 more chipboard left, perfect for "RISEN", but I haven't had the time. Maybe this weekend...

But here it is, I love how this turned out:

As Life Happens...

One of my co-workers and a dear friend of my family was in a serious ski accident. Two surgeries on vertabrae and sternum later, the young man is on his road to recovery, and without any long lasting effects. We are very thankful and First Born is looking forward to coloring Easter Eggs with Uncle Steve soon (will have to wait for next year, but she doesn't need to know...)

I made this card for work group to sign and give to him

Canvas for Christmas

I made this canvas as a Christmas gift for my MIL. Secretly, I'm hoping she doesn't like it and then I can get it back from her when Christmas comes around this year. LOL!

They Make Me Giggle

This is another one for the challenges at SO but turned out NOTHING like I had envisioned. I used Heidi Swapp mask to create the swirls and that mask was more difficult to use than others. It was difficult to lift the whole mask up at once, so it was a little hard to reposition it and when all is said and done, it looked like I had angled the mask exactly the same on the left and on the right!! Oh well, the girls make me giggle whenever I see these pictures, so even though it is not a favorite, I will share a giggle.

Fun in the Sun Challenges at SO

While Chantele is away in Florida, she posted four challenges at Scrapbook Obsessions. Here are two of my entries. I did them over the weekend! I feel so prolific already in March!

The requirements for this layout is to include "fun in the sun" in the title and various colors of embellishments. Sometimes I get so hung up with the images on the PP like this one, full of surfboards. Feels like I must use them when I have pictures of surfboards or something, but that is so not necessarily the case!!! It did not take much to talk myself into using these paper for a Hawaii layout and since that PP is so busy, I left the rest of the layout rather plain.

Ah, here we go, scrapping for the sake of scrapping! I must say that I love the quote I found for this challenge, which is to include the word "forever" in the title. This is also a technique of mine whenever the challenge calls for n different types of PP, I use tiny little bit of PP to satisfy that requirement. I dug all these PP out of my scrap pile, woohoo, using "up" scraps. Of course, as Lorie would put it, it only makes smaller scraps!!
